About this project
For the Delphy Soft Fruit Centre in Horst, we recently installed 30 insect netting cassettes on the ventilation windows of two research departments. In one of the two departments, a new trial was recently started to investigate greener strawberry cultivation using various varieties. One method for achieving this is the use of insect netting.
Growing strawberries in combination with the presence of insect netting and the associated ventilation reduction is a challenging issue. However, given the ever-decreasing possibilities for successfully controlling harmful insects, the implementation of insect netting in the ventilation windows of existing and new greenhouses seems to be only a matter of time.
With this solution, we contribute to an optimal research and cultivation climate, keeping unwanted insects out. The Delphy Soft Fruit Centre supports growers and the sector with practice-oriented research, innovation, and knowledge development for soft fruit cultivation. It is wonderful to be able to contribute with our craftsmanship to an environment where the future of the soft fruit sector is being further developed daily.
