About this project
Following the announcement of our collaboration with VDL-BRASIL in late October 2025, we are proud to share that we have now officially started work on this beautiful project.
On a 5-hectare site located directly along the Westland Route, our team is installing the screen systems and insect netting with care and precision. The greenhouse is being equipped with blackout screens, energy screens, and insect netting for integrated ventilation windows. This combination contributes to an optimal and controllable greenhouse climate, with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and crop security.
The technical installations and the wire bed have now been laid, and the first blackout curtains are already in place. In addition, we have started the installation of blackout partitions. This will allow the greenhouse to be divided into different sections, tailored to the various cultivation phases of the crop.
The contours of this beautiful project are becoming increasingly visible! 🤩 BPnieuws also came to take a look and wrote a nice article about it. Read it here (in Dutch): https://www.huismanscreensystems.com/nl/nieuws.
Update: September 2026
After months of construction, installation, and hard work, the new 5-hectare greenhouse in De Lier is virtually complete. The first chrysanthemums are already inside, truly bringing the final result to life!
For this fantastic project, we installed energy screens, blackout systems, partition walls, and insect netting cassettes. The result is an impressive, high-end greenhouse where technology and cultivation are perfectly aligned, and every detail has been considered.
Today, we are installing the final sections of insect netting, paving the way for full-scale cultivation to begin. VDL-BRASIL, thank you for your trust, and best of luck at this magnificent new location!
